After months of the tamp in my hitachi dab stereo being a sod it seems to have emitted its last pfffft.

I suspect it was poorly designed as the fan ran all the time almost from new so its likely the combo of being on and in a room with a wood burner it was just too much for it.

Looking about for a replacement . Not much grabbing me.

Require dab , require fm and require audio in for the airplay express and a remote.

Seen a sony for a hundred but it doesnt get great reviews. (the hitachi when working was ok – although not a patch on my technics – which probably isnt a patch on “insert stw audiophiles brand here” ) and is ugly . Dont really want to spend 200 quid:(

Not sure what kind if quality you need but we’ve just got an Acoustic Solutions ne 8280 of eBay for £45.
Every kind of dock you can think of. Bought one for our shop and now got one for home.

Had a look , they look ok but im reluctant to buy one again without hearing , the fan on this hitachi has done my head in for 5 years.

Thinking about it another pure one stereo would do fine if it could be had with a remote and i could reappropriate the airplay to the garage.

Anyone used that lot ever or had a pure scirocco ? Looks like they are discontinued so a refurbs about my best option but it looks nice and compact with decent speakers
