All look good, meet my needs. Looking to spend around £2,300 when the wife goes back to work and I get some more dosh.

My gut instinct is the Whyte – great reviews – but the Alutech build kit is amazing, no wonder they sold out, and fancy the single pivot simplicity: No little horst link bushes to worry about.

Cube is a bit more of an outlier – especially as is 2×11.

I’m based Surrey as have a hardtail already – this would be for trail centre bashing and longer distance rides where the old back isn’t up to it anymore.

    Cheers, Alex

I’d say the Whyte. I’m intrigued by the Alutech as I also think it looks great and the geometry looks like it’ll be a blast, but the whyte is the more sensible option in ownership terms I think, UK brand, lifetime warranty on bearings etc. Both would be fantastic to ride though!

I tested the Whyte and the Stereo back-to-back on a demo day and the Stereo was much better, IMO. I bought one.
