Need a rear rim to replace the Crest wot I bent on a drainage gully with a burpy tyre. Is the Flow a load stronger than a Crest? I know It’s 130gms heavier but It’s also cheaper at CRC at the minute.
    Dilemma time!

Flow is a lot stronger than a Crest. Arch Ex is the inbetweener though so might be the sensible option?

How bad is the ding? I might be willing to pay you for it if it’s not hideously bent!

Just to add to your dilemma there is a new Flow EX coming out…

Aye, Flows are cheaper at Wiggle, £56 as opposed to £60. Might go with a Flow then!

I dont know if a flow is a really stong rim. I’ve dinged mine a fair few times in 6 months. I guess the stans rims arent sold as uber strong – but “uber tubeless”.

I’ve got a new Arch EX rim on the front of one bike. That seems like a reasonable compromise. Wide, but about 100g ligther than flows.

To me the only big plus with the ZTR rims is how the tyre bead “locks” into the rim. Even with zero air pressure – the tyre doesnt want to burp.

    Sorry, no experience of Crests.
