Getting a creaking sound from my bars somewhere (Fatbar lite)

Borrowed a torque wrench and going to check the stem bolts (seem tight)

    its got me paranoid now…

any one ever had these break?

I think carbon bars are one step too far although i have no evidence to back this up!

Remove from stem. Clean bars/stem/bolts. Reassemble with carbon paste to manufacturers torque spec.

If they still creak, bin them.

I wouldn’t have thought your bar would creak. It’ll just snap unannounced one day more likely.

I’d check stem and headset etc first. More likely to be a moving part probably.

is carbon not meant to bend rather than shear off suddenly? I thought that was one of the major selling points when the larger MTB market first moved to carbon that and the weight factor.
