Yes I know my deck needs re staining

Screw that, get that bike back together and go ride. Take a few pictures while you’re out there too 🙂

I often think about what colours I would get my bike repainted if I had the time, cash and inclination.

My current favourite idea is a lustrous dark chocolate brown with small orange decals or a pin stripe running round the head tube, along each side of the top tube and going down each side of the seat tube.

nice! pics when you’ve got it built up and in the sunshine?

I was sat outside the pub next to this one yesterday. Metal flake in the green and a yellow top-coat. Looks bloody marvelous with the sun on it!

JoeG With its straight tubes, the Rocket is rather retro looking

My first thoughts entirely. With this in mind, I’d go for something akin to this:

Oh no… hahaha… THAT is what Cy appears to have gone with in the first place, guess they got it right first time:

I had a Ferrari red frame with a top coat of ChromaFlair paint. Looked awesome in the sun as it’d fade to green

Those grey/black tyres have to go, however.

Looks trick…saddle and tyres let it down though.

Is the white pearlescent? Any idea what they would have charged retail…I’ve been inspired!!

I am very very happy with it. You can see the pearl effect better on the close up frame only shots. Has a satin finish to it which scuffs a little easier than gloss but looks lovely in the sunlight.

    Fatcreations did an awesome job

Tyres were a gift and are actually very good. I quite like the grey stripe. Saddle is a saddle, don’t sit on it that much on this bike, it is much more important on the Stanton for long XC rides.

@nwill1 – best talk to Ali about cost, I know what it would have been but I don’t want to say in public in case I set expectations incorrectly. There is a menu of price options and this was a slightly more simple design than some of the airbrushed beauties he does.

I will say the price seems very fair for the quality, time and skill that goes into each frame. He is a perfectionist and I like that 🙂

My first thought was ‘Rocky Mountain’ too….

Head tube is a really nice touch (I think I’d’ve had that on the top tube so I could see it though…)
