and if todays painful disaster was anything to go by.. safety glasses should also be worn when taking a leisurely stroll on the common with the kids..

Ouch indeed. 18 months ago I was scraping some loose paint off a door frame when I got a titchy flake of paint in my eye, but after (wrongly) giving it a rub, thought it had gone. Till 4 days later when my Mrs said ‘youv’e got something in your eye’. Anyway I duly went to a mirror & easily got it out. 2 days later I was driving to work & was hit by a stabbing pain in my eye. You guessed it, corneal abrasion. Still not healed! Takes bloody ages apparently.
