Came across this vid the other day and had to share it. Anyone done any cycle speedway? You talk to old boys and it seems everyone was at it in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. I’ve seen it before, I just think this video shows a very laid back, fun side to it. Very grass-roots.

Lots do. There’s a speedway track near us and when there’s an event on it’s always very busy.
tried it once, was terrible. I was fit and strong enough but it’s the corners, unsurprisingly.

They used to have one near where I lived growing up. We used to bomb around it on our bikes but it was gravel not sand so crashes weren’t any fun at all.
