Selling my house at the moment and the buyer’s solicitors have asked for a series of answers related to the management company which looks after the estate.

The management company will provide said answers but at a minimum charge of £210 for administration for a basic “conveyancing pack”, followed by a further £25 for each answer not covered.

My solicitor has asked me to pay up front for this. I think the buyer should be paying. Who’s right?

Tell buyer to pay, then watch them walk away.
You pay, of course, esp. for usual answers.

But according to my solicitor, their solicitors are asking unusual questions, hence the high charges.

Your solicitor should be weeding out the pointless ‘unusual’ questions. Tell him or her to pull their finger out and earn their fee.
