Have found a box of disposable contacts, they must be about 8 years old, still sealed and look ok, no use by date etc, would they still be ok to use??

They’ve probably developed cataracts by now

There should be a use by date on them. There is on all mine.

If you are like me and only stick them in for a few hours while on a ride, then probably be OK. If you wanted to wear them all day for 16 hours, I might think twice.

Perhaps the OP needs to wear them to see it? 😉

TBH there should be a date on the foil somewhere, perhaps stamped rather than printed.

Your post reminded me I only have 1 pair left. Just ordered 32 pairs for £12 from Daysoft.com. The last 32 pairs have lasted me just over half a year 🙂
