Is there anybody from consett or nearby interested in riding on a weekend iv just moved over and dont know many people ?

Not much help but there is some classic riding near there that takes in Durham with many a pub stop, I was following so no idea of the route. There is a few on here that live in your area though, loads of areas for you to access from there too.

We're not in Consett but Newcastle mountain bike club always welcomes new members. http://www.midaircrisis.co.uk We have people who live down that way somewhere.

I'm from Consett, but managed to escape. There's some decent riding straight out of the town but most of the "mountainbikers" from the town just seem to hoon along to Waskerley and back, pretty dull really.

Riding from Hexham can be pretty good, but that's also a drive away. It's not the most busy scene on offer too – I have been meeting folks and riding with new people but I was on my tod this morning.

You're also not too far from Hamserley if that's your thing.
