  • Comfy seatpost for a Soul?

Any suggestions? Hae a Thomson, but my lower back suffers a little on long rides.

Have considered carbon, but never run a carbon post before, am worried that lifting and dropping it a couple times a ride, especially in gritty conditions, will wear it in a bad way.

    Ti posts work very well.
I’d recomend a Kent Erikson if you want something nice.

I’ve got a (unbranded) carbon post, with lots of post showing and its sooooo comfy.
I don’t change its height. man up and don’t drop it if you care about scratching it 😉

Not fussed about the cosmetic aspect of the scratches – more the post failing as a result.

only teasing. fair point & maybe worth wiping it down with something if you
can as they can scratch up a bit. not sure it’d kill it though.

Cy’s advice is to use a Use post.

USE Ti here. After about 4 years use, it now has a gentle curve to it…

I’ve got an FSA SL-X Carbon seatpost on my Soul.

On One are doing them for £29.99

Hmm… looked into the USE posts, talk of weight limits and the like, didn’t really sound good.

The last USE post I had (in a soul) bent. My thompson was great. I’m now using a Ragley. It was fine for the Puffer solo. (My back’s killing me, but that’s due to the course, the amount of time riding and the fact that I forgot to put a sensible length stem back on. Arse-wise, and comfort-wise, the Ragley was spot on.

I use a thomson and find it too flexy, its only 27.2, I don”t see how any 27.2 post can be over stiff (unless your frames too big and have hardly any post showing).
