I’ve gone back to good old Raceface Good n Evils.

Nice and fat and squidgy and sticky.

Back to the old fashioned push on jobs too. Never got on with lock-ons; always ended up with my hand on the (uncomfortable) outer collar.

My hands are xlarge in gloves by the way and I’ve got a pair of ourys that got used 2x as they are too thick and felt horrid.

I’d really really really recommend trying the lizard skins (the name is a massive off put but dont let it be as they are top grips)

i thought the superstar excel were worth a punt for 9 quid and so far so good, they are extra thick and long for people with big hands, work fairly well on the single speed

I have ESIs and they are good for most of the time. I have found that in some circumstances i can feel the bar through them though. If you have big hands i would imagine even the chunky ones are a bit narrow though.

My wife has standard (non lock on) oury mountains on her bike. These seem to have a lot more squish than the ESIs.

ESI Chunkys. They also fit really well next to GripShift too.

I really like the boggo Ritchey WCS foam grips:
    Light, comfy, grippy.

    I don’t use lock-ons and they don’t slip.

    +1 for Rusty Spanner

The Ritchey WCS foam grips are also dirt cheap (£6.99 on ebay for e.g.)

I really like the ODI Rogues… Squidgiest? Don’t know but very comfy and squidgy and grippy. Though if they get muddy you can see them wearing away before your eyes mid ride

Foam grips. Only thing is they do soak up water but I found it noticeable on a rigid bike that they made it less harsh. Felt a bit funny gurning up climbs on a SS though.

I’ve always found RF G’n’E’s ok but I wouldn’t call them squidgy.

My Bonty X-lite ones don’t, but I wouldn’t call then squidgy either.

Another vote for Ritchey WCS, got ’em on both bikes. Cheap as chips and they do a lock on stylee now.
