Basically I’m tired* of the supermarket stuff, is there anywhere in Manchester?

*Tired of a week without any coffee so this afternoon I’m taking off and re-injecting the stuff. 8)

My posh coffee comes from http://www.ravecoffee.co.uk/ – good stuff, good prices, no BS.

Tried ‘Jailbreak’ from hasbean with my aeropress.

Really awful. It was sort of sweet and oily. I gave it to a mate who is well into his coffee and he hated it too!

Much my experience with hasbeen, but I’ve been told off on here before for stating my preference for dark roast & suggesting the espresso starter pack from HB is underwhelming.

I mostly get mine from http://www.stmartinscoffee.co.uk/ – the boss likes coffee just a little too much 🙂 Bet there’s similar places in Manc. that roast their own.

Why limit yourself to Manchester, most good roasters do mail order some good ones:

    Climpson and sons: London
    Volcano coffee works: London
    Small batch: Brighton
    Extract: Bristol
    Dear Green: Glasgow
    Nude Espresso: London
    Union: London

Some people don’t like Hasbean or Square mile as a lot of their coffee is towards the modern cherry fruit driven finish which isn’t to everyone’s taste. Square miles recent ‘sweetshop’ blend was tried as espresso and pour-over but I gave it away. Not to my liking.

Life is too short to drink crap coffee like lavazza every day.

That I agree with. Sick of those standard-tasting bricks for my fix. I dont like like sweet-tasting coffee. Never ever put sugar near coffee either. Milk too really. A slash of foamy milk when abroad but thats it!

Black is the order of the day.

I feel that way about my Apollo Rampage from Halfords, brilliant bike, it has a spring at the back and everything.

I was going to suggest Hasbean despite some of the comments above.

They have a massive range. Some is more fruity in note. But the tasting notes are so detailed that it should be obvious what you are getting.

^ Don’t expect toffee whatever the tasting notes say
