only time I got foot cramp was on a road bike with long periods of pedalling and no getting off for gates or position changes for singletrack.

In the end I worked out that I was clenching my toes as I pedalled. A bit of toe waggling every now and again seemed to sort it out.

straps on shoes too tight, try and relax the foot and regular toe wiggling

Were’s the cramp? In the arch? If so get some insoles to fit your feet. I’ve high arches and used to get foot cramps but since using specialized green insoles my feet have been trouble free.

outside of foot virtually opposite ball of foot on both feet …gonna try different insoles to cushion the sole a bit
