Im putting a new(ish) set of brskes on today so I thought it might be worth giving the old rotors a clean.

Would a good dollop of degreaser work or just make things sqeezy.

Im sure I’ve also heard of people baking them or washing in coke.

    I wouldn’t use degreaser

If you don’t have any sort of alcohol cleaner, I’d just give them a scrub with hot soapy water

I used to clean them with hot soapy water and then wipe with alcohol. Now I was the arms with hot soapy water but leave the braking surface. All the gets is lots of water to rinse of anything. Unless contaminated, I leave well alone. I’ve noticed an improvement in braking since doing this.

soapy water, rinse well, rub with “green scouring pad abrasive stuff” when dry.

Spin the wheel as fast as you can and use your tongue to lick it clean

Meths works well. Just put some on a piece of kitchen roll and hold it on the rotor and spin the wheel a few rotations.
