Looking to re-insure a modern classic and wondered who you are with. I’m with Footman James at the moment although my new quote has jumped up a fair bit.

Flux Direct quoted very well for me, £100 for a 1985 Porsche 924 with two chaps under 30 on it for 3000 miles. Plus £35 for European breakdown cover.

Renewed with Adrian Flux (VW T2 camper) – tried ringing around but being kept on the line for ages so they could harvest all my personal data for a more expensive quote was soul-destroying.

I insure a 1976 Spitfire for £70 pa through my local broker underwritten by Zenith Marque.
Which seems a bargin.

i would not touch adrian flux, in my direct experience an utterly awful company.

Need2Insure and REIS were consistently good, I only went away from REIS as people kept crashing 7’s so they stopped insuring them! Flux were OK but quite big and corporate and not that flexible, Sky used to be great but seemed to be getting a lot more expensive, N2I and REIS seemed like much smaller, more ‘personal’ and actually took into account what you were using the car for, the types of modifications, and seemed to know about the cars and make suggestions as to what would benefit me personally.

Just insured with Flux, £100 for a modified 1969 TVR Vixen worth £18k.

Also wouldn’t use flux again I’d rather be uninsured….and probably better off seeing how they treated me in a non fault accident and seeing how they washed their hands of my dad’s hospital treatment after a van crossed lanes and hit him headon (with dash cam footage to prove,)

I’m insured on my classic with heritage insurance.

I should say that Footman James are brilliant with their attitude towards cars and give proper classic insurance options such as giving the car back after a payout so it can be rebuilt for about ten pounds extra if required and not charging extra for lowering etc.as long as they are informed.

I’ve been insured with Flux before. I think they tend to insure as a modified performance car specialist though.

I did a tiny bit damage when my car was insured with Admiral on a regular policy. Took it too the bodyshop foolishly for a quote as they recommended
and next thing I know is that they’ve written it off on some rating without even telling me.I had to contact the DVLA and luckily got it revoked! Got it fixed privately for next to nothing.

I’m with NFU – about £90 a year for my 1973 Fiat 500 with an agreed value of £10k.

I’ve been with them for years, but the main reason I joined them initially was free breakdown cover (regardless of vehicle’s age).

I use RH specialist insurance of Swindon (01277 206911) to insure my ’76 Alfa Junior. It costs £180 inc Vat, etc, for the coming year, comprehensive, including 3 months abroad, legal cover, breakdown (not needed yet!), unlimited mileage as it’s used every day, and agreed value of £28k .
I think that’s a bit of a steal!

Also wouldn’t use Adrian Flux again. Bunch of **** spivs.

RH Specialist car insurance. Been insuring a heavily modified MGBGT with them for years and consistently have the best price and conditions from any others I have used.

Plus if the car is written off you get to keep it for free.

I use Lancaster insurance for my Vw campervan
Comes with breakdown cover including Europe
I pay £170 a year with agreed value and it’s kept on driveway in London.
