I discovered heaven one summer cycling round the Chateaux of Burgundy and finding Alain Hess's artisan cheeseshop in the beautiful town of Beaune ...
I think a return might be called for, the combination of sunshine, cycling, wine and a smorgasborg of amazing cheese is really quite unbeatable
Damn ... now I'm thinking about cheese ... inspects current stock. Not too bad - a ripe brie, tangy goats cheese and a smoky cheddar, plus a decent bottle of red. I guess that today's post-riding evening sorted!

Foreign muck.
What is wrong with good British cheese' I can understand buying wine from foreign shore because we're crap at wine production, but cheese?

Very gratefully received a truckle of Godminster organic cheddar at Christmas (and still working through it now!) - spectacularly good stuff.

I'm going to disappoint the Captain, and yet reinforce his impression of me; my attitude towards cheese is similar to my attitude to beer; I don't like to be challenged so I opt for simple Cheddar to accompany my Stella.

Nothing wrong with a (good!) Cheddar, Crikey! The Beater, however.....
Sue, it's a cracker of a place. Very lucky here to have lots of great independent specialist shops.mas well as that, we've got a couple of great Italian delis, and a great real market (not a farmers/ponce market)

I bought a rather large amount of cheese mainly from this local producer for Xmas. All were fantastic as ever, I opened the Elsdon the other day and with some local bread, onion marmalade it's just heaven.

As a Christmas treat I got myself a jar of Tuxford and Tebbutt Stilton.
400 grammes, cost me about nine quid
I have never had a piece of cheese so creamy, yet downright sock poppingly strong.
flaming wonderful stuff!

A slice of Shropshire blue puts me in a very happy place.

Blue Cheese is one of my true food hates, the smell, and then the good awful taste of it just aren't for me.
Posted 4 months ago # -
Blue cheese with burger ftw!
And what is it with 'use by' dates on cheese packaging? I mean, what\'s the point of that?
Just encourages waste. Scrape the fur off, et voila still edible!

Wensleydale with cranberries...yum. A good cheddar ( nice orkney cheddar in JS recently)', but my favourite of all is parmesan, i could eat it all day till my arteries seized like a VW multi vane turbo.

I'm hungry now best go cut a muckle chunk of cheese, it's getting low though and can't justify topping up my stock until the end of the month so best take it easy.

OK, you've got me there...
Are you a foreign cheese-buyer or a foreign-cheese buyer? Or a foreign cheese-buyer who wants to buy foreign cheese in the UK?
