    Not for me, for my mum. Just needs to be a functional shopper type for going the two miles into town. She may take the long way home if she likes it though, so maybe a hybrid type.

    I thought it might be cheaper to get a cheap normal bike and convert it…?

    Seen small wheel ebikes in halfords for around £600.
    Gtech do a singlespeed ebike for a grand.
    Bosch bikes start at around £1500.
    Tj converted a normal bike, his kit cost (I believe) around £1300.
    I would imagine shimano steps or the yamaha system bikes will start at a similar price to the bosch ones.
    Not sure I’d want to trust a really cheap system tbh, esp batteries.
