    Hi,

Where's the best place to get some cheap UST tyres from? Need some new rubber for the Grizedale Challenge.

    Thanks.

P.S. Why are UST tyres so much more expensive????

    P.P.S I was a mountain bike rider before I was a roadie 🙂

I'd go for maxxis crossmarks or racing ralphs (ralph are more expensive).

Look at LUST or tubeless ready for lighter, cheaper alternatives.

2Bliss isn't UST in the proprietary Mavic sense; they are 'tubeless ready' like Bontrager and GEAX TNT tyres – need sealant to stop the carcass leaking air as they aren't non-porous like UST tyres. UST tyres don't actually need sealant to mount if running on a UST rim, only needed for puncture sealing.

One reason I suspect tyres with the UST logo are so expensive is that the tyre manufacturers have to pay Mavic to use the logo?!

i know – was intimating using 2 bliss as they are similar to tubeless ready

Must admit that I've been very impressed with the GEAX Saguaro TNT I've been running at the rear for a few months now – certainly tougher than other 'tubeless ready' tyres I've tried. Shredded a Bontrager TLR tyre on the second ride!
