    Just tinkering with the bike for the weekend and got hands very oily. Much to my dismay no proper hand cleaner about. Thought i'd improvise and dipped hands in washing powder for clothes, hands came up a treat and smell nice. Not for everyone, those with delicate skin but you should try it! Much cheaper than the proper stuff and i think as good.

    When I was out on site fixing council plant I sometimes used gas oil & sand. This was waaay before H&S.

    I use fairy and a tbsp of brown sugar. I also find fresh lithium grease works for getting stubborn oil out of my hands too. just rub it on and wipe off with clean rag

    i remmmeber using ajax as a kid to clean howling hands…
    marg and suger works too if you run out of the real stuff…best turn the taps on first though 😮

    Baby wipes.

    So effective that what they do to baby's bums concerns me.
