Planning a little tour around the war sites and cemeteries for a few days next month

Any recommendations for where to eat and sleep that’s fairly reasonable price wise?

I’m thinking of pre booking the first nights accommodation but then just seeing where the wind takes me for the rest

Any recommendations for towns and places of interest for WWI and WWII also appreciated

The Caen memorial and museum gives an insight mainly into the background IIRC, but also has maps with routes you can follow around the landing beaches, if you are in that area.

One of those Ibis type places is fairly basic and functional. There’s usually a restaurant nearby within walking distance, always good if sampling the wine!

Is it easy to find B&B’s over there?

Most towns have a Tourist office, they can sort accomadation for you, might be worth renting a cottage and using it as a base.
