How hot do you set your hot water to in the winter? I've just moved ours up from 50 centigrade to 60 centigrade - I guess overall the energy use will be higher but the house will heat up quicker due to hotter radiators and cool down more slowly for the same reason?

55 degrees. It won't heat up any quicker, it will just reach a higher temperature. And you will use more energy maintaining that higher temperature.
