Well we’re heading into shitty biking season and the inevitable crud that comes with it.
There may be the odd occasion where I won’t be taking a change of clothes.

Does anyone use waterproof/mudproof seat covers?
Are there any go-to manufacturers? Halfords don’t seem to get good reviews.
Looking specifically for Mk7 Golf.

£25 but fits well (will work with most inc quite deep-bolstered seats) and compatible with side airbags. Holding up well so far.

The £10 ones are rubbish.

Thanks Simon…one reviewer says it’s not entirely waterproof.
That is it’s number one pre-requisite…my car seats will be a mare to clean if dirty OR wet…cheers

Town & Country covers are really great.

I’ve had a few sets on different vehicles and whilst there not the cheapest, they fit well and are comfortable* to sit on.

*not slippy or hot.

Keep meaning to replace my cheap and cheerful seat cover with one from Town and country, as they are made to work with side mounted airbags (which the golf has)

It depends how fussy you are about the interior. Seat covers are pretty useful but it doesn’t protect the steering wheel/door cards / arm rest etc. I find if I’m muddy but not wet I can get away with it – I just roll up my sleeves and make sure my hands are clean. But if it’s wet and muddy then I will usually get changed.

Interior of mine is just covered in mud so not fussed really, but usually I have plastic bags knocking around in the car that can cover the seat if it comes to it. Generally though I keep a small bag in the car all the time with pair of battered old jeans to change into.

p.s. As I put the bike in the car I have a boot liner from http://www.hatchbag.co.uk. They don’t do seat covers it seems though.
