Hmmmm, had several Vectras and not had the springs changed on any of them. Last one I had for 3 years and 88,000 odd miles (had the rear end repaired after a kind lady used it to assist her braking on the A34) and current one is at 75,000 miles and no spring repairs yet. Guess I got lucky. 🙂

    Service
    MOT
    3 new springs
    New brakes
    Turbo pipe
    Small vacuum hose

    £1000

That sounds like a lot. Those fixits are all quick jobs.

Diagnosing the turbo fault took time. It was all itemised and it looks reasonable. It is just when it happens all at once that it hurts.

Last year service, MOT and all the necessary bits and bobs cost £160.

Had a mighty Vectra 05 plate that got to 108,000 without needing new springs. It’s now a farm vets car and bears multiple dents, smells of cowshit and still running well.

Did have 2 alternators go and the handbrake was useless. Rolled down a wee hill once with it on tight. To fix it Vauxhall sent out a litle sticker to put on your visor to remind you to leave it in gear!
