The mighty Galaxy’s only fault has been occasionally iffy central locking.

It’s starting to really play up (all via plippy fob)
    – locks first time, every time.
    – now takes multiple times (10-20x) to unlock, having re-locked each time.
    – every time I press unlock, when it doesn’t work the red battery sign flashes on dash. The same sign flashes every 3seconds. It stops flashing when it is the ‘working’ unlock
    – new car battery a month ago, kicking out great volts either engine running or engine off.
    – new fob battery last week.

    Thoughts/ how to solve?

The fob battery you replaced last week might be a dud?

    Try another one?

IMO, if it was the fob battery, the dash wouldn’t have a signal to receive, so wouldn’t know it was failing to unlock to show the red light…

I only have one plippy key.

It’s the third different fob battery I’ve tried, this one is a posh Duracell one.

It’s odd the dashboard light is suggesting it gets signal. I’m more inclined to go looking for something like vincienup is suggesting.

    It’s a known problem,google it,there’s a range of causes.

Did you try recoding the key after changing the battery?

I need to buy a second key and try a recode, just in case.

It still seems like a car responding issue – the flashing light corresponds to signal sent and received, just not acted upon…
