Finally added a 140mm 20mm set of Revs on my play bike and wow!

Cannot believe how solid the front end is now. New brakes next then it’s on to changing all my other forks to bolt through.

Same applies to the rear – I noticed a difference going from QR to 12×135.

SC engineers said that on a bike with more than 130mm travel, changing a rear qr to axle is virtually impossible to notice.

Depends on the frame – there’s flex in the swingarm of my old patriot with QR.

Give it a couple of weeks then you’ll start noticing how the legs walk in corners and how they bow outwards when you hit something hard

    Yup, what Al said.

If those forks are what I think they are- 2009-ish Revelation 426s- then it’s a stiff chassis overall and not just about the maxle (they’re basically Revs crossed with Pikes).

09 revs and I’m rather embarrassed to say they replaced a 10 set of qr reba’s

I originally had it set up rigid (hence the stoopidly big tyres) but then needed front suspension but only had the reba’s to hand.

It is such a hoot to ride and pretty much go for it every time I fancy a ride.
