Planning on doing the Monkey Trail one evening this week after work and I was wondering if anyone knew where the best place to park the car is? Usually park in the visitor center carpark but it is closing to early now the nights are drawing in and don’t want to get locked in there.

I park in the layby where the trail crosses the main road at the railway crossing. You can then ride the whole thing from a different start or do the new bit twice which is the most fun.

Most people park up at Marquis Drive it’s like a Sunday afternoon some nights.

Ride along the tarmac access road over the speed bumps until it turns to gravel and you will soon realise you are heading down Kit Bag Hill towards the level crossing.

Wouldn’t recommend parking by the pumping station on the other side of the level crossing unless you never want to see your car again.

As above, park on Marquis Drive, safety in numbers. Occasional police patrols to scare off the dope smoking Corsa drivers are an added bonus.
