I was diagnosed type 1 in January 2010 and was on insulin for a bit but was constantly hypo-ing so had my dose reduced bit by bit until it was stopped altogether.
I was told i was just in a honeymoon period but that was now 20+ months ago and they now seem to be telling me i'm a type 2 instead (which suits me fine). I have no medication at all and test my blood every day (just once) but my blood levels are pretty much normal although they can go high(ish) if i eat lots and don't exercise.
I had all the symptoms when i was first diagnosed but now don't really have any diabetic symptoms at all despite being told i'm definately diabetic, so i guess you could be diabetic?
Having said that, a lot of type 2's could lesson their symptoms simply by sorting out their diet and doing loads of exercise, it's certainly worked for me. Perversly, i'm probably now the healthiest i've ever been as i cut most of the sweets and fizzy drinks out of my diet.
There was no history of diabetes in my family and i'm in the normal weight range for my height.
