  • Can I remove windows of older style XT shifters?

    Well I know I can, because I have done it, but it leaves the shifter with a little hole open to the elements. My XT shiters are 07(the first two way release) ones. A mate with current ones did this and found little plates inside the removed windows to cover up the holes, very tidy. Having had a quick look on CRC etc I could not find aftermarket covers for my shifters. Any advice out there?

    I took mine off.. Then just blanked it over with thick sticky plastic.. Seems fine to me..

    I found the little round frame-saver stickers to be perfect
