Partner's daughter says this one is a cracker, in the grounds of the Abbey, but the online reviews are a bit grim.

    Any other good uns?

    EDIT – wrong forum, apologies.

We were at that campsite exactly a year ago, over the bank holiday; the view over the abbey is quite spectacular, the site shop does excellent barbecue food, the facilities were good and it's in a great location. The downside was some of the other clientele; quite a few were music playing, take-the-car-to-the-loos types. On a sunny bank holiday in that area though I'd imagine they're all like that. It didn't spoil our stay at all.

If you can get up the hill at the top of the site you'll probably be far enough away from the main areas and the facilities so if anyone does start making noise it shouldn't matter. If we were going back to the area we'd probably go back there, just not on a bank holiday.
