Heading up there on either the 13th or 14th of this month for 5 days and thought it would probably be a good idea to book somewhere. Anyone got a campsite they can recommend? Thanks for any help.

There are a few of us up there on Wed 15th for one night. Going to stay at Rosetta for £12 per night.

Will do, planning on spending the Thursday at GT, may even sneak the Thursday night up there if we’re out riding late.

Oh forgot to mention,

I rang them to book and was told there is no need for mid-week but you would need to if your staying over the weekend.

Im surprided the sites are not busy with it being the week of Tweedlove. My garder could probably house a few tents…

Crossburn…in past visits one of the staff has had a bit of an attitude problem, maybe he doesn’t like mountain bikers. Otherwise a nice site with new bogs, flat pitches by the river. After all, you only have to see the staff twice unless you want to freeze your ice packs in the shop and pretty much be accused of nicking stuff whenever you go in!

Rosetta…much more friendly but pitches are much more crammed (the biggest tents don’t fit on the pitches) on a slope, and noisier in the evening. On our last visit the bogs were alternately over run by kids playing hide and seek or trying to hide from bullies in the cubicles, and they seemed to have trouble keeping the soap and paper topped up.

Would love to hear if there are any other little sites tucked away nearby.
