Can anyone receommend a Camp Site in the New Forest ? We plan on going in early May with the kids and my Brother in law, wife and 2 small kids to do a bit of leisurely cycling. We are looking for a campsite suitable for kids, dog etc and one that doesnt mind us using BBQs. If there was a pub close then that would obviously be a plus point !!

Sandy Balls was always great when we went there with our VW club, but not been for about 3 years. Plenty for kids to do inc a nice swimming pool with steam room and jacuzzi.
Or just go to one of the FC ones nearer Brockenhurst, less for the kids perhaps but a bit less ‘official’ feeling and bit cheaper.

We went to Bashley recently and had a nice time. Take the kids down to Mudeford Quay and pick up a crab line and some bait. Ours loved it and had loads of fun crab hunting…

Try the Red Shoot, smallish, quiet, off the main road, and behind a pub with it’s own brewery.
