I’ve been a member for a few years and I think we’re starting to see some genuine improvements in the attitudes to cycling here.
Most recently we’ve helped secure the Cycle City Ambition Funds, we’ve got 67% of city councilors signed up to the space4cycling goals more than any other region, and we’ve just held our second 200-strong space4cycling mass ride through the city centre, and this one was led by the leader of the city council.
Right now we have a great chance to grow the campaign with a bit of extra funds because The Cabinet Office is doubling every donation (up to a tenner) made to the campaign.
So in the unlikely event you have a spare tenner (or less) kicking about please consider donating it to the campaign to help us improve cycling in Newcastle:
Fire a copy to editorial@singletrackworld.com they might help you get a story out.
Cheers, but they never seem that interested in reporting cycle campaigning stuff here. I guess maybe it’s a bit too “road” for the target market? Which is fair enough.
