Anyone got any thoughts on the calibre Dark Peak, £550 at the moment and Mrs hoppy gets another 15% off which puts it into it’d be daft not to territory.

The only review I found so far suggests the wheels are a bit heavy so it feels a bit sluggish on the road. As I’m no lightweight and just want it for getting my fitness back after 12 weeks out recovering from an ankle op that’s not the worst criticism.

Looks very decent for the money, plenty of upgrade potential

Welding round the BB looks like it was done by a blind monkey but on the whole it looks alright on paper.

Which is exactly where the welding failed on my Calibre..

That’s a great bike for the money, especially with an extra 15% off!

It’s the previous generation tiagra, so the shifters aren’t quite as mice as the current gen, but the side benefit is compatibility with 9 speed MTB rear mechs and the rest of shimanos road 10 speed rear mechs.
