i have a voucher to use and it has an mtb session where you get bike hire,gear and 2hours in the cairngorms granton on spey area.not booked yet as i dont know much about the trails up that area???im going to be travelling from glasgow so want to make sure its worth the drive as there is other activitys that i could choose…

Loads of tracks around Grantown. There’s a new skills loop in the forest near the Spey bridge. Or take the speyside way to Nethy Bridge and explore the forest tracks.

druidh its a specific place that the voucher is for,its a day for 2 up in the glenbeg estate,just wanteed to see if anyone has knowledge of that area before i book it as i dont want to travel all that way and its no better than what i have at home if that makes sense….

It’ll be Craggan Outdoors then. It’ll be a 3 hour drive for 2 hour cycle. If you could get the bike for the day it would be well worth it as there’s scope for loads of routes around the area.

Gotcha.

As sniff says, that’s a long drive for 2 hours of cycling. Is there no way you can build it into a weekend away and do some other stuff while you’re up there? Or – see if you can keep/hire the bike a bit longer and have a play around on the new Grantown trails for 30-45 minutes and then head into the local forests for a bit of an explore?

cheers guys,that was my worry long drive for a cycle but from here i suppose its same distance for fort william ans down the way to some 7stanes so might just try it and see what happens,my other worry is that the bikes are sh** and i end up with a clapped out rusty bike with no shox and dodgy brakes,but it kinda defeats the purpose of taking my own bike as im paying for bike hire,will need to phone and see whats on offer first,
