  • C2C. Waskerly Way onwards to Sunderland, surface condition?
  • Looks like the sustrans C2C from the Waskerly Way onwards is mostly on an old railway line, is the surface suitable for road bikes with skinny road tyres as it looks a far nicer option than loads of A roads through Sunderland?

It’s part cinder part Tarmac. I have ridden it on my road bike but it needed a good clean afterwards.

The amount of broken glass increases as you reach sea level.

It’s really quite strange finishing the route as it is all lovely and countryside until all of a sudden when you appear into suburbia with a McDonald’s enhanced shock…
