Went for a ride this morning and 5 mins in i get an increasing buzzing and vibration in the rear hub. Or thereabouts. Its not the tyre rubbing or brakes. Seems to build up when not pedalling on the freewheel. Are my bearings kaput or is it just a bit of muck?

    What wheel / hub?

Can you feel any roughness / rim wobble?

Rear, no wobble, just an increasing buzz when i take the pressure off and get above, say, 10mph. Feels like its from the hub but can’t really tell when i stopped and tried finding it with the bike upside down, wouldn’t seem to make a noise then, perhaps its only when theres pressure on the back wheel? I’m stumped apart from expecting the worst really.

Is the wheel sat in the dropout properly, and the skewer nice and tight?

Well, i tightened it up nicely and sat it in as i thought that might be the problem but it still did it. 😕

Just checked it with a mate and its not making the buzzy noise/vibration now. I bet it happens again when i cycle home!
