Has anyone bought bike bits from a German website, did you have to pay import duty or VAT etc. I assume because it is within the EU that there is nothing extra to pay.

Great as long as the kit works, but I bought some forks that died on the first ride, and the cost of sending them back to the seller was high enough that it was cheaper to go to TFT and get them fixed at my own expense…

Bought one of those Urge helmets from a German bike site. No extra charges, just the P&P. It was here within the week.

Bought a dynamo hub wheel and an IQ Cyo front light for my tourer from bikecomponents.de – took ages for them to build/source the wheel but they kept me informed all the time and everything was OK in the end.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, co-incidently I'm looking at a dynamo hub / hub gear wheels for a road bike.
