Our buildings insurance is due and as we’ve come to renew it we’ve found that the two companies we were dealing with back in April have cancelled each others policies, instead of cancelling the more expensive one as we requested and as they had promised they would.

As a result, we’re in the middle of building work and we’ve found we’ve no insurance, something I’mm trying to remedy asap.

Does anyone have any recommendations for insurers?

I’d get on the blower to have those two companies sort their differences out pronto and re-instate your insurance.

If you’re having building work carried out, it’s HIGHLY unlikely any insurers will take you on. Far too much risk involved. We’ve found this out due to having building work at time of renewal. The renewal quote is… speculative, shall we say. Tried to switch, but no-one will touch us as a result of the ongoing work.
