Anyone know if I can go in to a shop and pick up something that does the same job? Mines shagged it’s the one between the phone socket and router

Do you ADSL or VDSL (Infinity) ?

    I am guessing the latter.

You can buy third party modems from companies such as Draytek.

I would probably just get a new BT one off ebay if it was me.

It’s a white box with bt openreach on the front, it goes in between the wall socket and router I think it’s classed as a DSL modem

If you’re with BT: call them and they should send you a new Home Hub which combines the modem and router into one handy package.

If not: eBay is your friend. You want to search for the “HG612 modem” – make sure it’s a Huawei version.

    White box with Openreach front?

Sounds like you may mean the filter.

I’d be on to BT. If they won’t send you a free one, tell them you’re cancelling as the service is unusable. See how quick they sort it out.
