just back from a short riding break to the Brechfa trails and wanted to share Derwen cottage with you.
The cottage is situated on the edge of Brechfa Forest one mile up the quiet road from the car park for the Derwen blue/green and Raven black trails, and one mile down the road from Abergorlech village with the red Gorlech trail car park. Cwm Rhaeadr is just 20mins away in the car.
Maggie who runs the cottage had the wood burner going for our arrival. This place is so well set-up for bikers (we were a group of five) with a bike wash area, covered shed, and a barn where we could both wash and tumbledry our kit ready for the next days riding. Nice hot showers, good cooking facilities and really homely and comfy!
I thoroughly recommend this place as a base for a short riding trip, and the trails were ace.
