    converting Kona Jake 24 to MTB bars for my son who hates the drops…

    Anyone any ideas what shifters and levers would be suitable?

    Concerned that reach might be too much on adult brakes…and should the bars be narrower?

    Deore brakes….wind the reach right in.
    normal adult shifters to match whatever cassette(ie 7/8/9spd) you have will be fine.
    My son is almost 8 and he rides with 700mm wide bars

    Thanks have found some Alivio combines shifters and levers with adjustable reach..

    Think a narrower bar is needed though…
