Getting some Hope Tech E4 brake set soon as I’m away to the Alps and I’ve got a few events lined up, seen that you can get braided hoses for these, so whats the pro’s and con’s of braided hoses and are they worth it ?

    Thanks

    Pros:

    – Tougher – therefore less risk of cutting them in a crash for example
    – Slightly less compression therefore marginally better brake performance
    – They look good!

    Cons:

    – Slight weight penalty but we’re talking grams
    – Cost £10 per end more
    – Less easy to cut if you do need to change length

Overall I’d generally suggest going for them as the cons are pretty minimal.

I got the braided ones as they are more durable, they look great and they don’t cost that much more.

They also don’t seem to do as much damage to the frame.

Braided hoses do seem to be a bit more flexible and less likely to eat your frame at any contact points.

    For two reasons.

    1) I haven’t got em.
    2) There was a consensus, which is against forum rules
