In a couple of weeks I will be in Bourton on the water, with a few hours to kill –

is it worth taking a bike?

Yep, locals love it if you ride upstream

And for a semi serious answer: yep, if you’re happy to use a map. Head north west ish out of Bourton towards the Slaughters, Upper Swell, Naunton etc, loads of nice bridleway stuff in beautiful countryside.

If you’re looking to huck the gnnarr, you’ll be disappointed however.

Thanks, had plotted a little loop heading south using BWs, so will look at northwards options too

Ridden plenty of bridleways around there. Nice countryside but not so much of the gnarrrrr….
Just follow your nose and explore the place.

One little tip though is, every time you say Bourton on the water, you have to sing it like Deep Purple…
    Never gets old..
