This has been on my mind recently ,as my inlaws are both ill,one of them terminally.
Taking family photos over the holidays was difficult,part of me wanted to do it,but I was often aware of trying too hard to frame them at their best,while they looked like frail shadows of the people I love.

Looking/being frail and vulnerable is just as valid a part of life as looking/being strong and positive. And being able to engage with it and understand it is, I think, a sign of emotional maturity. I wish you well.

Just read the linked post – very thought provoking. I shall reflect on that.

Has coincided on the weekend I’m going to drag out my old film camera and shoot a roll of grainy B&W film.
