    Can i mix mineral oil?

Im doing it top down and using halfords bike specific mineral oil but i will have to mix the oil.

Will this be ok or should i bleed the old oil out completely.

I can't do it bottom up.

    It'll be fine.

Why can't you do it bottom up?

I usually run it through until it has all been swapped and the colour is close to the new stuff anyway as new fluid is cheap and better.

fair enough, i personally find i get a better bleed doing it bottom up. You can get syringes from ebay, couple of quid for 5 decent sized ones

i had one and lost it like a muppet. I did it bottom up last time and it went really well.

At this rate im tempted to just let the LBS do it.

I might leave it till the weekend and pop to JE James and see if they have a spare one.

Oh and i don't have the damn brake block either. it's going really well so far.

Use a piece of wood as the brake block. Bleeding top down is fine, just a bit more of a faff.

    Do it
