    Really so your saying it’ll destroy the computer, the CPU, MOBO and RAM or is just a case of your exaggerating some what and at the very worst you’d just have to buy a new Hard Drive.

    It’s exaggeration but I can see where he’s coming from. If you’ve got an old PC and lack the skills to do a full rebuild… <shrugs>

    I hate having to do a rebuild, it feels like admitting defeat. With the latest generation of infections though, it’s often the easiest way. I think in the time I’ve been doing this I’ve only thrown in the towel once, which isn’t a bad hit rate, but in cases where I don’t have the box in front of me “rebuild it” can be the best advice.

    To be fair I’m probably a bit more knowledgeable than your average home user as I’ve always been interested in computers so to me it’s not a dark art.
