Done to death but who cares.

I've just skipped over series IV and then III and bang, in like a heat seeking missile back into series II. Sublime and sooo right.

Anything other than one was to contrived, still funny but contrived, series one for me.

Series 4, the ending of the final episode still gives me a lump in the throat when I watch it.

The episode with Flashheart was one of the finest 30 minutes of comedy ever made.

The original before RA got too big for his boots and refused to do another series where he played an idiot. The first episode is comic genius 'Arghhh, Uncle Richard' and 'The Bishop of Bath and Wells' 'He was one of mine' 'Will be conducting the Thanksgiving Ceremony' 🙂

    Series 2 – Booze. Brilliant

3 for me. The Ep with Stephen Fry playing Duke of Wellington punching George who is pretending to be Blackadder, whilst Blackadder pretends to be Thickie George. Or the Actors. Or the Dictionary…So many good episodes

Mmmmm, Miranda indeed, best for me is series two although all very good.

    When the night is dark,
    And the dogs go 'bark',
    When the clouds are black,
    And the ducks go 'quack',
    When the sky is blue,
    And the cows go 'moo',
    Think of lovely Queenie:
    She'll be thinking of you.

I'm with KingTut, series four just for the ending – one of the most touching and poignant endings to a series I have ever seen. I remember watching 'Points of View' after the last episode of the series had just aired, and several WW1 veterans had written in and said that the ending was 'just right'. High praise indeed…

I remember laughing at that bit infront of my Mum (who was also watching)- I went very red 😳 (Probably about 10yrs old then?!)

Queenie/Miranda came across madder than a box of frogs 😆

I don't have a favourite series – I think each series has episodes that are genius and some that are meh.

Taken all-round, have to say 2.

But 4 had some of the best one liners; "I find his (C. Chaplins) films about as amusing as getting an arrow through the neck, and then discovering there's a gas bill tied to it."

1 was pretty good though. Don't forget it has Brian Blessed AND Peter Cook in it.
