Plenty of riders out in Black Carr Woods (Pudsey) yesterday morning, must have seen at least 10, good going considering it's perhaps a well-kept secret.
Anyone else on here out in the Pudsey/Fulneck Black Carr woods area yesterday? Which route did you take?
I was on my first singlespeed (On-One Inbred) mtb ride (so you might have seen me nearly puking my breakfast up), my mate was out on his Canyon Nerve XC.
I wasn't out yesterday, but it is part of my normal circuit. I seem to find a different trail everytime but generally I go "outward" along the bottom gsining height gradually towards the old railway then up a long lane past some fishing holes, out at the top of the road, turn left, across a field and then back down, finishing withe rotty/steppy bit by the beck. If that makes any sense!
I'm also a singlespeeder leaving samples of lung on every climb!
Nice one. Yeah, your route does make sense, I hope you know what I mean by the following:
I spotted some good singletrack off to the left of the Bridleway running from Ned Lane past the burnt out armchair (white leather), hoping it runs down to the beck in the middle of Black Carr. Looking for an alternative to the BW, because the horses pretty much ruin it!
I'm hoping to put a map together with all the trails on.
Aye some nice trails around there. Lots of horses on the main bridleways at weekends though. Oh and the little streams are not so little after several weeks of rain - great for cleaning all the mud and shit off your wheels though 
Oh and SS-ing around there looks painful !
Certainly is, lots of grimacing and pedalling techniques I've never used before!
Anyone know of any club rides around here? If you're local I'd happily organise a weekend outing.
There's a group ride every Tuesday night from the either valley or woodcock pub.
Personally I find the place too damned muddy! Never seems to dry out..
