I rent a room in a shared house and want to insure both my bikes.

Any suggestions who to use?

How much it should it cost? I know there are many factors taken into account and every quote will be unique, but a rough guide would be useful.

Should I just look for contents insurance?

Other than my car I’ve never insured anything before, so any advice would be appreciated.

For bike only the OH used cycleguard as a student – they were pretty decent when it sadly came to having to claim. Otherwise, Endsleigh might be worth a look (7% cashback if you’re with Quidco).

IIRC you’re talking about 10% of the bike’s value per year as the premium.

Certainly worth taking a look at combining with contents, provided it covers up to the required value and away from home, etc.
